Publications in 2023

Part of a bioinformatician’s work in a biotech company is scientific research on topical subjects that the R&D department develops itself or at the client’s request. Participating in conferences allows us to show ourselves as experts in the field, make new acquaintances and start projects.

In 2023 I started as a bioinformatician and finished as the head of a small group. Therefore, roughly the first half of the year I did projects from start to finish — understanding the task, formulating and testing hypotheses, statistical analysis and visualization, writing the draft text and figures. In the second half of the year I did less myself and focused more on leading and quality control. Below are selected projects.

American Society of Clinical Oncology

The main clinical oncology conference in the USA.

“Aggregated analysis of 1,000 patients with cancer to assess the benefits of integrated whole exome and whole transcriptome sequencing”.
ASCO abstract compendium.
“Differential genomic and transcriptomic analysis of invasive lobular and ductal carcinomas”.
ASCO abstract compendium.

San-Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium

The largest breast cancer conference in the world, held in San Antonio.
I was even there, read the travel notes.

“Novel Transcriptomic Classification System Unveils HER2-Low Breast Tumors”.
SABCS abstract compendium.
