Bioinformatics Courses in Armenia

BostonGene together with the Russian-Armenian University launched bioinformatics courses. The goal is to recruit junior bioinformaticians to the company.
There are two tasks:

  1. Creating a selection funnel for new bioinformatics
  2. Having students come to us better prepared so that they can start faster and bring value

Recording of one of the courses on YouTube

A short spring course in 2023. The first lecture. I give an introductory word, Sasha Livanova talks about biology.

I was responcible for the course program and the set of lectures, selected lecturers, organized the preparation of lectures, homework assignments, projects and exams, and drew up and monitored the lecture schedule and homework deadlines. I communicated with students — coordinated where and when the classes took place, prepared lecture announcements, collected feedback by semester. I did everything except legal matters and budgeting.

A short spring course of 6 weeks in 2023. Sasha Livanova gives a lecture. I hand out the diploma.
Course 2023–24. Defense of course projects. Students present a classifier for cholangiocarcinoma.
Course 2023–24. 30 people received diplomas.

At the end of each course several of the best students were invited to the company for an internship.
